MSI follows a new trend in motherboard design is catching on with its design MSI Project ZERO. The Taiwan-based company, inspired by the Project Stealth di Gigabyte, wants to renew the aesthetic appearance of motherboards. The goal is to get motherboard with elegant designswith no power circuits or power cables visible.
The new type of motherboards results strongly reinforced, with the circuitry hidden under metal and plastic covers. This stance, however, could significantly change expectations on the latest generation releases, as well as a huge effort by the company to modify the motherboards already designed.
MSI Project Zero is based on the MEG Unify design, most likely the Z690 model with quad-DDR5 SO-DIMM support. The company took a step back and redesigned the placement of the motherboard’s headers, SATA connectors, and power. As you can see from the pictures, they are now on the back. For MSI you are having the same problems encountered by Gigabytewith his Project Stealth. For example, the problem of connecting cables in such a small space is relevant.
Some connectors are clearly facing opposite directions, which means motherboards will need to be redesigned. MSI Project ZERO it is currently only in the planning stage, but if this new trend is successful, it will certainly lead to completely new standards.
