MultiVersus: Players down 99%

A rapid and steep descending parabola that of MultiVersusfree-to-play fighting game for consoles and PC, which has now lost almost all of its players. The title was launched in July 2022, generating a lot of interest thanks to the various playable characters from the most diverse narrative universes (from Shaggy from Scooby-Doo to Rick from Rick and Morty via LeBron James). The game is, in effect, a gigantic crossover version of the brawlers a la Super Smash Bros.

In the course of less than 10 months, however, interest has decreased rapidly, also due to the lack of updates and original content. As of today, according to SteamDB data, game lost 99.3% of its starting players.

Less than 1000 players play MultiVerus

SteamDB is an online tracker that tracks real game stats on Steam. The loss of 99.3% means that Multiversus is played by less than 1000 players. To be precise the average number would be 986, an alarming figure for the Warner Bros Games team. We remember that only launch day peaked at 143,000 players, climbed to 153,433 players the following day.

The release of Season 3 is scheduled for March 31, 2023. According to rumors, the new Season should introduce characters such as Samurai Jack and Walter White from Breaking Bad. Will they be enough to turn the tide of the game? In the meantime, we remind you that MultiVersus is playable for free on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
