Nio ES7, here is the new Chinese SUV for families with 850 km of autonomy

The range of Nio electric cars expands with the ES7 model, a new electric SUV designed for families. Able to carry up to five passengersjoins ES8, ES6 and EC6 in the Chinese manufacturer’s catalog.

Visually, the design of the Nio ES7 is characterized by a long hood hollowed out by two LED headlights each divided into two parts. Given the electric motorization, it has no grille. Only one vent is integrated into the front shield. Seen in profile, the SUV is distinguished by its square wheel arches and roof bars.

From a technical point of view, the Nio ES7 is based on a technical platform focused on efficiency. The exact specifications of the engine are not disclosed, but according to Nio ES7 it accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds. This model thus becomes the fastest SUV ever marketed by the Chinese manufacturer. It is also capable of towing and supplying electricity to a caravan or trailer weighing up to 2,000 kilos.

Nio ES7, up to 850 kilometers of electric range

One of the strengths of the new Nio ES7 are its variants. The Standard Range version has a 75 kWh to enjoy an electric range of 485 kilometerswhile the Long Range version has a 100 kWh for a range of 620 kilometers. Nio also thinks about long journeys and launches the ES7 in one version Ultralong Rangewhich offers an autonomy of “Over 850 kilometers” thanks to its 150 kWh battery.

With a wheelbase of 2.96 meters, the Nio ES7 has at first glance a rather spacious interior. The interior of the SUV has heated, ventilated and massaging front seats. The rear seats are “only” heated, but benefit from an electrically adjustable backrest. Comfort is enhanced by an air suspension system.

Nio ES7 is coated with screens, with a digital instrument cluster and a large central touch pad equipped with the latest infotainment system from the manufacturer. The SUV integrates the PanoCinema system, which allows the use of augmented reality functions, including virtual ones, linked to the instrumentation.

The brand claims to have collaborated with the Nreal company to develop virtual reality glasses capable of projecting a 201-inch screen from six meters away. Finally, the Nio ES7 is offered with an autonomous driving system that can be used on the highway, in the city or even during parking maneuvers.

The SUV will be delivered to its first buyers in China from August 28, 2022. Its entry price is set at around 66,400 euros with the 75 kWh battery. The price rises to around 74,900 euros for the special launch series, called ES7 Premier Edition. The release date in Europe is currently unknown.
