Nissan announces the creation of a aid package for the humanitarian crisis in Turkey, following the earthquakes that struck the region. The company has allocated an aid package of up to one million euros to help local populations.
In Nissan’s aid package for Turkey, there is the donation of 750,000 euros to Turk Kizilay, the Turkish Red Crescent. The organization is working in search and rescue, providing emergency aid in the field. Every day, 24 hours a day, it provides food, medicine, blankets and psychological support.
This donation is in addition to the international effort to directly support populations affected by earthquakes, providing concrete help.
In addition, Nissan has allocated additional funds from 250 thousand euros to double the donations of employees and partners who want to directly help local populations.
Nissan’s relief began in the aftermath of the earthquakes, with Turkey-based staff inviting truckloads of 25,000 euros for urgent supplies of food and clothing. Especially baby food, basic necessities. All while voluntary employee support continues.
William Cartier, Chairperson, Nissan AMIEO (Africa, Middle East, India, Europe and Oceania), said: “The situation in Turkey is a human tragedy of enormous proportions. On behalf of all Nissan employees, I send my thoughts and deepest condolences to those suffering as a result of this disaster. We pledge to give our full support.”
