Non-polluting car eco-bonuses: incentives are open from 2 November

Go to eco-bonuses for non-polluting cars.

In recent weeks we have reported the news of the eco-bonus for the purchase of electric motorcycles and scooters. Reservations started at 10 am on October 19th.

Ed here, from 10 am on Wednesday 2 November, the non-polluting car eco-bonus is released. Let’s find out what it is.

Eco-bonuses

The eco-bonuses, as we read on the ad hoc site prepared by the Mise (Ministry of Economic Development) are contributions made “available by the Ministry of Economic Development for the purchase of non-polluting vehicles”.

The purpose of such incentives is of course to contribute “to the reduction of CO2 emissions, in line with current European legislation on air and environmental quality and with the objectives of the PNIEC and the 2030 Agenda”.

The auto ecobonus

We therefore start at 10 am on Wednesday 2 November with the non-polluting car eco-bonus.

The way to book incentives was established by the Prime Minister’s Decree adopted by the Government on the proposal of the Minister of Economic Development Giancarlo Giorgetti.

The auto eco-bonus is reserved for the purchase of non-polluting cars up to 60 g / km CO2. And it concerns both individuals and car rentals. Let’s see the measure in detail.

The auto eco-bonus and individuals

News in sight for citizens with Isee less than thirty thousand euros. Which, by purchasing M1 category vehicles, electric and plug-in hybrids, will benefit in the course of 2022 from an extra 50% incentive compared to the ordinary one.

The remodeling will take place according to the type of vehicle, namely:

  • for the purchase of new vehicles with emissions in the 0-20 g / km CO2 range and with the car manufacturer’s list price equal to or less than 35,000 euros excluding VAT, the contribution is up to 7,500 with scrapping, or up to 4,500 euros without scrapping
  • for the purchase of new vehicles with emissions in the 21-60 g / km CO2 range and with the car manufacturer’s list price equal to or less than 45,000 euros excluding VAT, a maximum of 6,000 euros in contributions is reached in the event of scrapping (3,000 without).

The car eco-bonus for renters

From November 2, the car eco-bonus will also be available for legal entities that carry out car rental activities for commercial purposes, other than car sharing, as long as they retain ownership of the vehicles for at least one year.

And here is the size of the contributions:

  • for the purchase of new full electric vehicles (emissions included in the 0-20 g / km CO2 range) and with a price equal to or less than 35,000 euros excluding VAT, contributions up to a maximum of 2,500 euros with scrapping, or up to 1,500 euros without scrapping
  • for the purchase of plug-in vehicles with emissions in the 21-60 g / km CO2 range and with the car manufacturer’s list price equal to or less than 45,000 euros excluding VAT, contributions up to a maximum of 2,000 euros in the case of scrapping (1,000 euros without).

How to request the eco-bonus

The dealers will apply for the bonus, which customers will get in the form of a discount on the purchase price of the vehicle. After that the vehicle manufacturers or importers reimburse the dealers, and in turn recover the sum in the form of a tax credit.

The words of Minister Giorgetti

The Minister of Economic Development Giancarlo Giorgetti spoke about the auto eco-bonus.

The minister said: “With the launch of this measure, the industrial plan launched at the beginning of my mandate to accompany the supply chain and citizens towards the green transition, focusing on a pragmatic approach that takes into account not only the economic and environmental but also social ones.

By setting up for the first time an ad hoc fund of 8.7 billion euros at the Mise, funding and instruments dedicated to both the supply and demand sides were made structural, with the aim of giving a strong acceleration in dissemination of less polluting cars and solid support for Italian industrial production “.

A push towards low-emission cars

These novelties of the auto eco-bonus should be a boost to the purchase of low-emission cars, whose market is actually under braking.

In fact, according to data from Anfia (National Association of the Automobile Industry Industry), in Italy the purchase of electric and plug-in hybrid cars in the month of September fell sharply (respectively by 40.4% and 20.6%. And this is a figure in contrast with the European market.

The hope is that by the end of the year the total budget of eco-bonuses, amounting to just under 300 million euros, will dry up.. More specifically, the government’s commitment amounts to over 141 million for “pure” electric cars and over 152 million for plug-in hybrids.
