North Korean hackers exploited a Google Chrome flaw

According to a report by Google’s Threat Analysis Group (TAG), some North Korean hackers allegedly exploited Google Chrome’s zero day vulnerabilities before a patch arrived last month. The update for the browser arrived, therefore, late, failing to stop the attacks of North Korean hackers who would have managed to break into the systems of several companies.

The attacks would have started in early January 2022. The victims of cyber attacks would be around 250 people. The North Korean hacker offensive has been carried out in various ways. A phishing campaign reached the victims by offering particularly advantageous job advertisements and a malicious link attached to the email. A second attack targeted people employed in the fintech and cryptocurrency sectors with the aim of collecting sensitive data for users. The attacks in question appear to have been very targeted. Hackers therefore knew who to target and how to carry out the attacks.

The attacks may now have been blocked
