NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080: primi benchmark in 4K

The GeForce RTX 4080 is back to talk about itself, this time with the first leaks on benchmarks related to overclocking performance

This time we talk about performance in Game, especially in 4K, the future GeForce RTX 4080 has been the protagonist of several leaks, and apparently will earn up to 9% performance in terms of marginin addition to its nominal power, we are obviously talking about overclocking and consequent increase in the Power limit, it would seem only 10W on final consumption.

And it seems to be a good result, considering that the test was conducted on a semi-custom RTX 4080 model (with NVIDIA reference card) and with a relatively low Power Limit adjustment. The card gained up to 9% in 3DMark TimeSpy Extreme and up to 7% in 3DMark Port Royal.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080: primi benchmark in 4K

On the Chiphell portal, from which we got the news, we observed the results obtained in game, of the well-known hardware leaker “MEGAsizeGPU / BFK9K” with RTX 4080 and ideally stable drivers. The GeForce RTX 4080 has been tested with a few titles, including Forza Horizon 5 updated, COD MW2, Cyberpunk 2077, Borderlands 3 e Shadow of the Tomb Raider. See some Screens here;

The leaker used the Ryzen 7 7600X CPU to conduct tests as you can see, however, these results by themselves are not very explanatory, or in very limited form, unless they are not coupled with similar specifications. However, to make a comparison on the fly, another Chiphell member provided the following results by making a comparison with the RTX 4090 paired with an i9-12900KF CPU;

  • Forza Horizon 5: 147 FPS vs 127 FPS (+15.7%)
  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider: 179 FPS vs 129 FPS (+ 38.8%)
  • Red Dead Redemption 2: 129 FPS vs 99 FPS (+30.3)
  • Cyberpunk 2077: 111 FPS vs 83 FPS (33.7%)
  • COD MW2: 137 FPS vs 127 FPS (+7.9%)

Going to compare RTX 4090 and RTX 4080. There are still speculations, it should be remembered, and above all tests carried out on Drivers that are not officially final. NVIDIA RTX 4080 will launch exactly next weekil November 16. This model will be equipped with GPU AD103 con 9728 CUDA cores e 16 GB of GDDR6X memory. There is no longer a 12GB model.
