NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti: Released May 18, available for purchase from 26

It seems that according to the latest rumors the release of NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti is scheduled for May 18th with an official announcement which will then be followed by the release on the market starting from the 26th of the same month

One of the most powerful video cards of 2021 would now be ready to debut with ad in style. We are obviously talking about the release of NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti, the GPU that will bridge the price and performance gap between an RTX 3080 and the super top of the range RTX 3090. A GPU much anticipated by all gamers, even if the shortage will probably inflate the prices. The good news is that NVIDIA may have further refined the anti-mining protection that limits the hash rate of the new GPU. But will this be enough to see reasonable prices? Probably not, but we also hope so in relation to the trend in the world of mining.

NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti: Released May 18, available for purchase from 26

NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti: Release announcement on May 18th

The Videocardz site, citing the Chinese site ITHOME, reports the dates of the roadmap for the commercialization of NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti. The information was originally posted on the Expreview forum, but is currently no longer available to the public. According to one of the posts, NVIDIA has now provided a full scheduled launch for the new RTX 3080 Ti graphics card. NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti is scheduled for release on May 18 with the official announcement, will follow the reviews that will be published a week later, on May 25th. Finally the date of 26 should identify the arrival in the shops, theoretically at least given the previous ones.

The specifications

Let’s take a review of what we know about the specs of the new GPU. The NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti 12 GB FE (Founders Edition) graphics card is expected to feature a PCB design encoded as PG132-SKU18 and the GA102-225-KD-A1 graphics chip. It looks like the latest reinterpretation of this GPU will have 10240 CUDA cores for a total of 80 SM units, almost as much as an RTX 3090 which has just a handful more. The new top-of-the-range video card should deliver a clock speed of 1365 MHz in base and 1665 MHz in boost, slightly below the flagship RTX 3090 probably due to the TGP which should remain the same as the RTX 3080 or 320 W.

As for the memory, the card will be equipped with 12 GB of GDDR6X memory (even at the beginning it seemed to be 20). Unlike the RTX 3090’s 19.5Gbps speeds, the NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti is expected to maintain the same memory speed as the RTX 3080’s 19Gbps. It is also assumed that the new graphics card will use a 384-bit bus interface for a theoretical total bandwidth of 912 GB / s. It should still be enough to power the huge 10,000-core chip, although a slightly more generous buffer would have made this GPU longer. That’s all from the hardware section, keep following us!
