Opening Future Day: the future of digital innovation is discussed in Turin

The innovation and contemporary culture hub entirely recovered by the CRT Foundation was held today at OGR Torino, theOpening Future Day, an event promoted by Intesa Sanpaolo, Google Cloud e Noovle, cloud company of the TIM Group, to take stock of digital as an element of social inclusion and a driving force for economic and employment revival.

The initiative, which is part of the project launched by the three partners last July to encourage the development of digital skills and the territory, was an opportunity to deepen the process of spreading technology in the country system and the opportunities for market locally and nationally.

The event was attended, among others, by the Councilors of the Piedmont Region, Andrea Tronzano, (Budget, Finance, Economic and Financial Planning, Assets, Development of productive activities and small and medium-sized enterprises) and Matteo Marnati (Environment, Energy, Councilor Chiara Foglietta, Ecological and digital transition and mobility City of Turin), Gian Maria Gros-Pietro, President of Intesa Sanpaolo, Salvatore Rossi, President of the TIM Group, samuel good friend, Vice President, Sales, EMEA South, Google Cloud, Stefano Geuna, Rector of the University of Turin, and the professors of the University of Turin, Aldo Geuna e Francesco Ramella.

During the conference, the research of theUniversity of Turin entitled “The economic and employment impact of the Turin Data Centers” with the estimate of the impacts generated by the creation of a new Cloud Region on the Piedmontese territory and the analysis of the level of digitization of the productive and entrepreneurial fabric of the Region, intended as an increase of new cloud services and digital skills assets.

The study shows that the digitization of the productive fabric attributable to Data Centers will generate approximately 1.7 billion euros in Piedmont and approximately 30,000 new jobs thanks to the combined effect of investments and the greater productivity of companies that will migrate to new services. digital. Overall, the investment alone for the construction and operation of the three Data Centers will generate economic benefits of 1.3 billion euros and the creation of approximately 21,000 new jobs. To these must be added a further 400 million euros generated by higher productivity and higher spending on technological services by companies, from which another 4,000 – 7,000 new jobs are estimated.

The birth of a Center of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Development, a center created as part of the Opening Future project dedicated to the development and co-working of solutions accelerated by artificial intelligence and enabling technologies and located right inside OGR Tech, an area dedicated to applied research and business acceleration of OGR Turin.
