OPPO is about to launch a foldable smartphone

According to the latest rumors from Chinese sources, OPPO would be almost ready to reveal its foldable device by mid-December 2021. The launch would first take place in China, and then also arrive in Europe and the United States in 2022. The device has the name in code “Peacock”, and although there is no official news yet, some information has surfaced on the net about this mysterious device.

In fact it seems that OPPO Peacock will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 cas processor. Some rumors want it to have a display from 8 inches by 120Hz LTPO, which could therefore guarantee a variable refresh rate and improve battery performance. There is also talk of a fast charging at 65W for the battery from 4.500 mAh. It will come with ColorOS 12, the version of Android 12 from OPPO.

It should have great sensors for the camera. In particular, the main one should be a Sony IMX766 from 50MP. But there would be three more sensors for a quad-camera setup that promises great things. The selfie camera should also be of quality, with rumors talking about a 32MP sensor.

But in addition to this upcoming folding smartphone, it seems that OPPO is preparing another one with the code name Buttery. This device is expected to have the next generation processor (and not yet released at the moment) Qualcomm Snapdragon 898. It could arrive in 2022 and quickly expand the OPPO solutions portfolio.
