OPPO is part of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation – CNCF

OPPOas a leading company in the smart device sector, announced this week its entry, as a “Gold Member”, into Cloud Native Computing Foundation – CNCF. The foundation is involved in building sustainable ecosystems for Cloud Native software. Here are the details about the announcement:

OPPO announces its entry into CNCF

On the occasion of the entry into CNFC, OPPO announced that the CubeF cloud native storage projectS, of which he is the main supporter and collaborator, has entered the incubation phase. OPPO has long been a strong promoter of the advancement of Cloud Native technologies with a particular focus on‘Internet of Experience (IoE). With the CubeFS project, OPPO aims to build a healthy and sustainable technological ecosystem.

This project aims to offer POSIX and S3 compatible interfaces to facilitate the separation of storage from computing, ensuring greater flexibility in adapting resources to the computing capacity required at any time. The wholesale in CNCF represents a further step forward for the completion of the OPPO project.

Haifeng Liu, Vice President di OPPO AI and Data Engineering System, comments the announcement as follows: “Since October 2021, OPPO has been the main contributor and maintainer of CubeFS, a distributed file system for Cloud Native applications, and has therefore been increasingly involved in the development of this ecosystem. We hope that by becoming a Gold Member of the CNCF, we will be able to provide resources and support that can contribute to promoting innovation in the Cloud Native community ”.

Chris Aniszczyk, CTO of CNCF, adds: “OPPO has been instrumental in making CubeFS a viable CNCF incubation project, enabling the underlying storage infrastructure for online applications, database and / or data processing services, and Machine Learning jobs orchestrated by Kubernetes. We are happy to see the interest shown by OPPO in wanting to further contribute to the Cloud Native ecosystem and we look forward to collaborating together ”.
