The saint who made Italian contemporary history, Padre Pio will have a new film, directed by Abel Ferrara and starring actor Shia LaBeouf. It is a biographical film, which traces the years of Francesco Forgione’s youth, even before he became known as Padre Pio. The filming took place in Puglia, where the monk lived and where there are still paths linked to his life.
