Peratech keyboard for Lenovo Legion 7 gaming notebook

Force-enabled Peratech keyboard used in the latest Lenovo Legion 7i and 7 gaming notebooks

Peratech (here for the site), is a leading innovator in tactile user interfaces for high performance electronics. Today it announced that its full range force sensing technology will be featured in the latest WASD keys of gaming laptops Lenovo Legion 7i e 7 (16, 7). Integrated into Lenovo Legion’s high-performance premium gaming laptops, the Force Keyboard and Peratech’s Hydra UI software provide a more immersive and engaging gaming experience.

Unlike other gaming laptops that have added force function to the W, A, S, D keys, Peratech’s all-analog response allows gamers to engage with games on a much more intuitive physical level. Extending the simple on / off switch of a key standard to release the full range of forces in real-world interaction.

Jim ThomasCCO of Peratech shared:

Imagine you are driving down your local highway and your throttle is limited to just 2 options, ‘off’ or ‘full speed.’ Reality-based physics requires acceleration that depends on how hard you press the accelerator pedal or how far you turn the steering wheel. This is the difference that Peratech’s intelligent touch sensing makes.

Thomas added:

The key to the experience is how we leverage Peratech’s ability to combine sensing technology and advanced controller software to deliver the full and immersive gaming experience on notebook PCs while preserving the existing typing experience. Strength and non-strength keys feel the same because they are the same. From a strength standpoint, key accuracy, consistency and consistency deliver a console-style game controller experience without your hands leaving the keyboard. This is exactly what everyone has been asking for in the PC Games Community.
