Philips Fidelio L3: great headphones with ANC

Philips Fidelio L3 headphones deliver top audio performance, with a excellent passive noise isolation and outstanding active noise cancellation. Audio performance is ensured by the inclusion of large bespoke 40mm drivers, featuring a unique three-layer construction in shock-absorbing materials commonly used for high-end headphones, whose thickness has been adjusted to optimize driver performance on the full spectrum of frequencies. A great effort has also been made to ensure excellent passive sound insulation through the careful selection of memory foam of unique quality and soft ear cushions, covered in leather.

The Philips Fidelio L3 have a four-microphone hybrid ANC system, with the valuable feature of offering the highest level of noise cancellation, without changing the timing and musicality of the headphones playback, which remains the same whether the ANC system is in use or not. Highly reliable connectivity is available through Bluetooth 5.0, with exceptional wireless audio quality guaranteed by compatibility with the codecs Qualcomm aptX HD. The Fidelio L3 headphones also offer high-resolution audio playback via a detachable audio cable, which is included.

One additional built-in microphone is dedicated to cancellation background sounds to ensure crystal clear audio in incoming calls. A key design goal of the Philips Fidelio L3 was to develop extreme comfort with great style, an example of which is the external metal headband wrapped in Muirhead sustainable leather and the inner cushion covered in soft leather. The smooth-faced, circular-shaped pavilions, chosen for the best comfort and acoustic performance, are suspended from an open aluminum support frame that from the X3 model has become a distinctive design element of Philips Fidelio.

Ease of use is guaranteed thanks to touch controls with swipe, touch and pressure action. Alternatively, a Push-to-talk feature allows hands-free voice assistance via the compatibility with the Google Assistant. The Philips Fidelio L3 headphones also offer excellent battery life, with 35 hours of playback – 30 hours with ANC continuously active – and the option of a very fast charge, with a 15 minute charge time that gives you an extra six hours of use via the supplied USB-C cable.
