Playstation 3
The players of PlayStation 3 e PlayStation Vita they are having various problems accessing their digital purchases after a strange one Expiration date suddenly appeared on some games. The problem appears to primarily affect classic titles, preventing users from playing games such as Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger e Final Fantasy VInow labeled as “expired”.
The strangest part of this story is that the expiration dates that suddenly appeared on the games go back half a century. The Twitter user Christopher Foose shared a picture of her download of Chrono Crosswhich shows that the game would expire on December 31, 1969 at 7:20 pm, definitely an odd date, for obvious reasons.
As noted in the various threads and posts about the issue, some players claim that they have tried to factory reset their consoles, sign up and unsubscribe from PlayStation Plus, and reset game licenses, all to no avail. PlayStation has not yet shared any comments regarding this bizarre phenomenon, but it is likely that it is a bug of some kind.
According to some, the reason why these dates appeared could actually be very simple. The problem could in fact stem from a technical problem that it allegedly caused the restoration of the expiration dates of the Vita and PS3 game licenses in the Unix era, that is, the time and date set arbitrarily by developers to designate the beginning of a console’s life.
While this is just a glitch, it is in effect another lunge to the PS3 and PS Vita stores, which probably won’t be open for much longer.
