Porsche 911 Sport Classic limited edition in a 1960s style

The new Porsche 911 Sport Classic is the second of four collectible models that Porsche is launching with its Heritage Design strategy. A total of 1,250 units of this limited edition of Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur will revive the style of the 60s and early 70s.

Based on the 997 introduced in 2009, this model’s appearance is inspired by the original 911 (1964 – 1973) and the 1972 911 Carrera RS 2.7. Orders can already be placed, and will be priced in Italy. starting from 285,863 euros. Deliveries to Porsche Centers will begin in July 2022.

“The Heritage Design versions represent the most interesting concepts in Porsche’s product strategy”, afferma Alexander Fabig, Vice President Individualization & Classic. “This exclusive approach involves a collaboration between the Porsche Stile design department and Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur to reinterpret iconic models and equipment of the 911 from the 1950s to the 1980s and re-propose the stylistic characteristics of those decades”. Porsche will release four limited edition models over a long period of time. The first of these was presented in 2020: la 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition, with design elements from the 50s and 60s.

Porsche Design has also created a high-quality chronograph available exclusively to those who purchase this collector’s edition. The watch perfectly reproduces numerous design details of the new 911 Sport Classic. As part of the Heritage Design Classic package, some interior elements will also be available for most of the current 911 models starting in 2022.

The large bodywork usually reserved for the 911 Turbo, the fixed rear spoiler in the style of the Carrera RS 2.7 “ducktail” and the double vaulted roof underline the distinctive character of the new 911.

For the color designers they were inspired by the Fashion Gray paint of the first Porsche 356and the first 911 Sport Classic of the 997 generation, launched in 2009.

Alternatively, the body color is also available Solid Black, Agate Gray metallic, Gentian Blue metallic or in a custom color from the Paint to Sample option (starting October 2022). The double stripes painted on the hood, roof and rear spoiler in Light Sport Gray underline the sporty design of the car.

Inside of, the iconic “Pepita” motif located on the door panels and center seats. The two-tone Classic Black / Cognac semi-aniline leather upholstery creates an elegant contrast with the exterior color.

Porsche 911 Sport Classic, manual transmission only and 550 HP of power

Power is entrusted to the 550 horsepower (405 kW) 3.7-liter six-cylinder twin-turbo boxer engine. It comes with a seven-speed manual gearbox gears that makes the 911, with this type of gearbox, most powerful available today.

The gearbox has a “toe heel” function which compensates for the difference in engine rpm when downshifting. This provides a quick and short increase in revs before engaging the lowest gear. The standard sports exhaust system is specially adapted for an even more appealing sound experience.

The suspension, based on those of the 911 Turbo and 911 GTS models, satisfies the high performance that this model is able to offer. In fact, thanks to the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) as standard, its adaptive dampers respond instantly to dynamic changes. The PASM is combined with the sports suspension as standard, which lowers the ground clearance by 10 millimeters.
