PS Plus Video Pass: Does a leak reveal the news for subscribers?

An error on Sony’s official Polish website may have revealed an interesting news for PS Plus subscribers, the Video Pass which gives access to a library of Sony-branded movies

That the Xbox Game Pass is advancing intrusively over Sony’s PlayStation Plus is well known to most. It is equally well known, however, that the two companies have always had a completely different, at times opposite, approach to the videogame industry. On the one hand, the traditionalist Sony has always aimed at software: triple A video games of great depth, such as God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn or Bloodborne, have for years pushed a large slice of gamers to prefer the purchase of a PlayStation. On the other hand, the strategic turn of the Redmond house in recent years towards services has given rise to that rough diamond that is the Xbox Game Pass, which is updated monthly with new titles. Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Bethesda also rocked the market. A fight on equal terms, in short, which cannot be good for us consumers.

If we are to believe a leak that appeared on the Polish PlayStation site, however, it seems that the offer of PlayStation Plus subscribers is about to be enriched with something that the Game Pass, to date, does not have. Two images, then promptly removed (but you know, the Internet is never slow enough) have in fact appeared on the site, indicating that subscribers will receive a service that will allow them to enjoy Sony home video content. Recently, the company also announced that it will stop offering movies and other video content via the PlayStation Store, so it would be a near-next move.

The second image that appeared would list two of the films that may be available with this Video Pass. I titoli sono Venom e Zombieland: Double Tap, two rather important films produced by Sony. A move that would certainly enrich the offer of the Plus, which today offers gamers two PlayStation 4 games and one PlayStation 5 free every month. Let’s see if and to what extent this leak was a simple mistake.
