Rai Way continues the digitization plan: the details of the new project

The Rai Way digitization program continues. To support this program is a nnew IP contribution and distribution network which was created by Cisco IP Fabric for Media following the related public tender. Rai Way, as the main Italian provider of infrastructures and services for television networks, has focused on Lutech e Cisco to support its digital transformation. The new IP video and audio contribution and distribution network will play a leading role in this program.

Rai Way takes a new step forward in its digitization program

The evolution of the Italian broadcast infrastructure of Rai Way, with the transition from analogue to digital, it started in 2008. In this period, with the arrival of the new digital terrestrial, an important additional step of the program is being recorded. This process, in fact, requires the freeing of the 700 MHz frequency band and the transition to an MPEG video signal compression standard. To support this program, Rai Way has therefore created a new infrastructure offered by one software-centric IP network. Lutech has created the new infrastructure using Cisco technologies.
