Capture One is a reference software in the world of photo editing. Famous above all for its color management, in the 12 Pro version (which we have reviewed for you) new creative heights have been reached thanks to the functions and improvements introduced.

If you want to expand the functions of the software, several additional packages are available, which we have already reviewed in the past. Continuing on this line today we talk about Editorial Styles by Marie Bärsch.

The key point of Marie Bärsch’s work is the exaltation of the subject and the reading of the same. A point that leads these Styles to be very particular but useful on several occasions.

Thanks to Editorial Styles by Marie Bärsch it is possible to carry out intense gradings focused on the portrait. Clearly they can be combined with other Styles, especially Spectrum, but their main use is to give a particular mood to the photos. Marie Bärsch proposes a work focused on the enhancement of color within the photo, this exaltation gives the photos a unique touch, immediately recognizable, but at the same time extremely pleasant. The best, however, is given by the combined use of these presets with the Spectrum Styles which manages to emphasize even more the moods of the latter or to provide a neutral base on which to apply them. In the world of portraits, on the other hand, the possibility of selectively applying Editorial Styles stands out thanks to the Capture One Pro level features: in this way we can decide to apply the action only to the complexion and / or only to the context with an enormous amount of possibilities and variables.

At the end of this review we would like to say that the work done by Phase One in collaboration with Marie Bärsch is of a high level and manages to bring to the end user a valid option to apply complex and always pleasant gradings in a simple way. We recommend them to portrait lovers and wedding lovers who will be able to take full advantage of the possibilities that these presets guarantee. For those who practice multiple genres, however, our advice is to choose according to your preferences, if you like the mood offered by these presets, buy them with serenity: you will be positively surprised by their 360-degree usability that greatly expands the functionality of Capture One Pro .
