Review Taco Gatto Capra Cacio Pizza: that’s it!

Here is the review of Taco Gatto Capra Cacio Pizza! 5 words and 1 deck of cards for a really fun and very caciarone game

Taco Gatto Capra Cacio Pizza is a game published by Blue Orange and distributed in Italy by Ghenos Games. The title of this game looks like a tongue twister, but it’s not. It’s not even a magic formula that risks turning you into a weird beast if you say it wrong. Taco Gatto Capra Cacio Pizza is more of a “mantra” that players have to repeat until the end of the game.

Preparation | Review Taco Gatto Capra Cacio Pizza

The contents of the box are very quick to illustrate, it consists of 64 cards with the following subjects drawn on them: taco, cat, goat, cheese, pizza, gorilla, marmot and narwhal.

So, now let’s move on to preparing for the game right away. To start the game it is necessary to shuffle the deck and give the players the following number of cards:

  • 2 to 5 players: 12 cards
  • 6 players: 10 cards
  • 7 players: 9 cards
  • 8 players: 8 cards

N.B. Unused cards are placed inside the box.

Each player must hold his or her stack in hand and with the back of the card facing up.

Course of the game | Review Taco Gatto Capra Cacio Pizza

The game starts with the player to the left of the one who dealt the cards. This player takes the top card from his pile and places it face up in the center of the table starting to say: “Taco”. The game continues clockwise, so the second player must also put the card of his pile face up in the center of the table, but he must say: “Cat”. He continues like this, discarding a card face up in the center of the table alternating, always in order, the words: taco, cat, goat, cheese, pizza.

The moment a correspondencethat is when the card that is going to be discarded and the word spoken by the player match (e.g. the player pronounces the word CAT and discards the card CAT), all the players must quickly hit the central pile and the last one that does ( that is, that he has his hand on top of all the others) must take all the cards of the central pile.

Special cards

There are three special cards: gorilla, marmot and narwhal. When a player discards one of these three cards, all players must make a gesture and then must hit the center pile (as is done in the case of correspondence). Here are the gestures that accompany the special cards:

  • gorilla: beat your fists on the chest
  • marmot: beat your fists on the table
  • narwhal: clap your hands on your head

What happens when a player runs out of cards?

When a player runs out of cards he has not won the game, but must keep saying “Taco, Gatto, Capra, Cacio, Piazza” during his turn.

End of the game | Review Taco Gatto Capra Cacio Pizza

The game ends when one of the cardless players is the first to hit the pile of cards in the center of the table in case a match occurs or if a special card appears and thus wins the game.

Conclusion | Review Taco Gatto Capra Cacio Pizza
