Samsung is also blocking shipments to Russia

Stop shipments of Samsung products to Russia. This is the decision taken today by the Korean giant “due to current geopolitical developments”. Samsung however – reads the official statement – will continue “to actively monitor the situation to decide the next steps.”

The decision must not have been particularly simple considering that the Seoul-based company is Russia’s top smartphone manufacturerwith a market share of 30%, which places Samsung ahead of Xiaomi (23%) and Apple (13%).
The Korean company will therefore have taken into account the loss of a few percentage points and related revenues but the choice made now seems the only possible one and follows what has already been established by Cupertino, Nike, IKEA and many other companies that have chosen to suspend their business in Russia.

Samsung also announced a donation of $ 6 millionone of them in consumer electronics, in favor of Ukraine, in the hope that they can help the region and the refugees.
