Samsung is keeping the promise made to CES 2022 and is about to bring the NFT on its televisions, announcing a partnership with the auction site NFT Nifty Gateway. In a press release, Nifty Gateway says its platform will be integrated with Samsung TVs, allowing users to browse, view and interact with NFTs directly from their TV.
From now on it will then be possible to view NFTs on your Samsung TV, and perhaps even buy or sell them, although it is worth noting that Nifty Gateway is significantly stricter on who can sell artwork on its platform than OpenSea. the NFT market that most people will be familiar with.
In an announcement stream, Samsung reiterated that its TVs will optimize settings for a faithful rendition of the artist’s intent when digital tokens are displayed. The Nifty Gateway integration will be part of Samsung’s Smart Hub, and it appears that Samsung’s intent is to show NFTs as environmental works of art.
Our Samsung TV would then display the digital artwork when the device is in sleep mode, a bit as if they were furniture items to show off when the television is not in active use. Sure, the most mischievous of you might think this is in effect a screensaver, but who are we to judge.
