Samsung’s new OLED display folds in two directions

Samsung spokesperson John Lucas showed The Verge a prototype smartphone that uses a new hinge to fold on itself in both directionsthe. The display uses a new type of hinge that creates a less visible crease. The hinge resembles the shape of a drop of water and according to Samsung it reduces the stress on the display when bending, limiting the chances of breakage.

This technology could serve not only to fold the smartphone in two directions, but also just to reduce the space when folding the foldable. However, Samsung could surprise by launching 360-degree leaflets, although it seems strange that it shows a technology on a prototype a few months before the commercial launch. More likely this year we will see the new hinge and only in the next few years the new form factor.
