Scarface and the Untouchable is the book about the clash between Al Capone and Eliot Ness that will soon become a TV series produced by Showtime
Scarface and the Untouchable is the book by Max Allan Collins and A. Brad Schwartz that reconstructs the battle from a distance occurred in Chicago between Al Capone and Eliot Ness, through journalistic materials, interviews, articles and archive images. Showtime has decided to produce a TV series based on this book and on two great characters from history, who have also become iconic in the world of cinema and fiction.
The book focuses on the life of famous gangster Al Capone and policeman Eliot Ness, who hunted him down during the Prohibition era. Archives confirm that Ness was fighting a battle to get police reform and curb crime in the city of Chicago. At the same time, Al Capone was creating that empire of crime that has also been talked about in the cinema.
The clash between these two characters, each a hero in his own way in his own world, has already been told on the big screen with famous films such as Scarface and The Untouchables, with Kevin Costner and Robert De Niro. This is the first time that the clash becomes a TV series and above all based on a journalistic essay, with documents and archival materials.
As for the production, the only information that is known at the moment is regarding the script, signed by Ben Jacoby of Newsflash and that the team will be Alex Kurtzman.
