Schuberth C5 new generation modular helmet

Schuberth just launched the C5, a new modular helmet that can boast of being the first model of the house with the new P / J ECE-R 22.06 homologation to be able to use it “legally” with the chin guard raised or lowered.

Aesthetically it maintains the design of the C line of the German house, positioning itself as the evolution of the C4, but looking at all the technical specifications of this model we can see that it is a new concept of modular helmet. To achieve this, as the company explains, it took more than 20,000 hours of engineering, 2,000 helmets tested in the wind and environment test laboratory and more than 400 hours of tests on German roads.

The result is a lighter but safer modular helmet, with a more modern and aggressive shell design but at the same time silent as the German manufacturer is used to.

The C5 incorporates a new DFP fiberglass shell reinforced with carbon fiber with double density EPS interior for better shock absorption and at the same time guaranteeing a reduced weight, declared in 1,640 grams.

And like the rest of the Schuberth range it benefits of the Anti-Roll-Off System which prevents the helmet from being released in the event of an impact, which in turn is connected with a chin strap in a new forward position for greater comfort in the area where you are going to rest.

Among its many innovations we also point out its new ventilation system with double chin air intake with washable and interchangeable filter for adequate breathing while driving in extreme conditions.

The buttons are designed to offer easy adjustment of the variable control front ventilation, which is combined with a new rear spoiler with air intake and visible EPS ventilation channels. Taking into account that modular helmets like the C5 are normally optimal for use on long distances, the German company has focused on offering maximum comfort when worn. For this reason he gets a seamless internal fabric. In addition, the term is introduced “Individual concept” which in practice offers the possibility to customize the internal padding with multiple thickness options for the sides, back and cheek pads.

In addition to the “physical” comfort it provides, we cannot ignore hers excellent sound insulation of suns 85 Dba a 100 km/h its a naked motorcycle.

A nice detail that the C5 includes is the screen memory function whereby any position selected with the chin guard closed will be retained after opening and closing it. The visor with anti-scratch treatment and optical quality 1 incorporates the system “pin-lock” anti-fog while not missing a sun visor retractable, very easy to use.

Thanks to the technology of his SC2 intercom system with Sena HD speakers and three integrated antennas, you get great communication quality, as well as being easy to install and configure. One novelty is the integration of technology Mesh 2.0 which offers the possibility to connect with a virtually unlimited number of motorcyclists.

The new C5 modular helmet will be available from December in eleven different designs and in sizes XS to 3XL. with prices starting from 629 euros.
