Seagate and Lucasfilm: a collaboration to help gamers

Seagate Technology Holdings plc (NASDAQ: STX) today introduces the new Star Wars ™ Beskar ™ Ingot Drives family, which is the first product of a Star Wars-inspired collaboration among gaming PC storage devices, elevating player devices at a higher performance level.

The first product born of the collaboration will celebrate the legends of the Mandalorian ™ galaxy at Star Wars, introducing the iconic Beskar ™ precious metal effect to the FireCuda range of units. Special Edition designs will be available for 2.5 ″ SATA SSDs, M.2 NVMe SSDs and external hard drives. The units will look like a Beskar ™ ingot, including the imperial seal that stands out on every device in the range, making them a must-have collector’s item for Star Wars fans.

“We are thrilled to introduce this iconic design of one of the world’s most popular sagas to all player battle stations,” said Jeff Fochtman, Seagate Technology’s senior vice president of marketing and commercial. “This collaboration is enjoyed by a wide audience, including gamers, producers and Star Wars fans.”

Seagate’s fastest M.2 2280 SSD – PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD – delivers speeds up to nine times faster than SATA-based SSDs, with sequential read / write performance of up to 7,000 / 6,850MB / s, and includes an elegantly designed heat sink with great installation flexibility and excellent performance.

Thanks to the slim 2.5 ″ format, the SATA SSD offers versatile installation and various configurations. Gamers can power up their stations with external hard drives featuring a customizable RGB LED light bar.

This lightweight external drive with simple plug-and-play connection compatibility allows gamers to easily carry their entire game collection with them. The new drives include Seagate’s five-year warranty and three-year Rescue Data Recovery Services ™ for data recovery.

The PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD will be available in 500GB ($ 179.90) and 1TB ($ 259.90) capacities, 1TB ($ 199.90) and 2TB capacity SATA SSD TB (€ 359.90) and the external hard drive with 2 TB capacity (€ 124.90).

Although the Star Wars saga is millennial, the wait for the launch of these units will not be long. Star Wars Beskar ™ Ingot Drives will be available soon, in time for the holiday season. Over the next year, Seagate will unveil additional iconic Star Wars-inspired designs.
