Sebastian Stan will play Donald Trump in the film The Apprentice

The famous TV series The Apprentice is about to become a film with Sebastian Stan in the role of the protagonist Donald Trump

Sebastian Stan, who became known to the general public for playing the role of the Winter Soldier that we know well in the world of Marvel Cinematic Universe films, will play the role of Donald Trump in a film inspired by the series The Apprentice. The actor of Romanian origins has already received a Golden Globe and an Emmy nomination for his portrayal of Tommy Lee, the rocker at the center of the biopic Pam & Tommy. This new project, currently titled The Student, could mark the return of the actor in an interpretation based on a type of story, namely the biographical one, which seems to suit him.

The Student is directed by Ali Abbasi, the director of Holy Spider, selected as a possible best international film at the Academy Awards. It will be interesting to see how the Iranian author of this crime thriller approaches the film about the dark side of contemporary America. Ali Abbasi also directed two episodes of the HBO series The Last Of Us starring Pedro Pascal. Next to Sebastian Stan in the film we will also find Jeremy Strongwinner of the Emmy thanks to the series Succession, which plays Roy Cohn and Maria Bakalovathe star of Borat 2, who plays Ivana Trump.

The film will chronicle Trump’s rise to success in 1970s and ’80s New York and examine his relationship with famed lawyer Roy Cohn. Stan, 41, as mentioned, is known for playing Bucky Barnes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), starting from the 2011 film Captain America – The First Avenger and is currently involved in the production of Thunderboltsa film about a group made up mainly of former supervillains (along the lines of DC Comics’ Suicide Squad) which will include Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Ghost, Red Guardian, Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, US Agent and Taskmaster.
