SHOW ME KIM: A photography exhibition on the right to care

SHOW ME KIM is the title of a photographic exhibition that recounts the twenty-five years of the KIM Association, committed alongside sick childhood and the right to care

SHOW ME KIM is a photographic exhibition that opens in Trastevere, at Palazzo Velli Expo, in a new and expanded form, always with the aim of recounting the twenty-five years of the KIM Association alongside sick childhood.

Since 1997 the Kim Association defends the right to care for the most vulnerable sick children, often coming from countries at war or from countries without adequate health facilities. Kim takes care, completely free of charge, of their reception, protection and hospitalization, taking them by the hand throughout the process starting from the request for help and then during the period of treatment in the main hospitals of Rome: first of all the Pediatric Hospital Baby Jesus and the Gemelli Polyclinic.

the collective, which will open to the public on Thursday 1 December at 19.00 and will end on Sunday 4 Decemberintegrates author’s glances and snapshots collected by the volunteers of the KIM Association and also becomes the ideal framework for reflecting on the right to health of children through the round table “To cure or to take care?” organized for Saturday 3 December at 18.00.

The path, between images and words, was organized to turn the spotlight on a dramatic problem that finds little space in everyday narratives: the condition of too many children from countries at war or without adequate health facilities and for whom surgery, surgery or pharmacology, in a country like ours remains the only hope for life.

Curated by Elisa Clementelli, SHOW ME KIM, was born from the meeting of ten professional and amateur photographers, with this world and this reality unknown to most. Personal imprints, born from different emotions but all united by the red thread of hospitality. And the impact is strong: from all these gazes comes a great wave of care and affection, comments the curator Elisa Clementelli.

The exhibited works are by Flavia Castorina, Mimmo Chianura, Elisa Clementelli, Emiliano Gallo, Luigina Di Giampietro, Bernadette Guarrera, Omar Kheiraoui, Martino Pisanello, Laura Saviola, Elisabetta Tufarelli. The initiative is supported by the Quirinale Employees Club.
