Silent Hill 2 Remake has finally been announced!

Konami has finally officially announced the new Silent Hill 2, a remake of the iconic 2001 title in development by Bloober Team

After a silence that seemed to be infinite last night Konami broadcast a long live event dedicated to the franchise of Silent Hill. During the presentation they were shown different projects very interesting, but in particular the first announcement was the one that caught the attention of the fans the most. The titles in the Silent Hill series are still considered to be some of the best horror video games ever created today and in particular the second chapter is one of the most appreciated by fans of the genre. Now, more than twenty years after its first publication, it seems that we will finally have a way to relive this great story in a more modern guise thanks to the Bloober Team remake. For the uninitiated, this Polish software house specializes in the development of horror video games. In fact, in the course of their career they have given birth to several highly appreciated titles such as Layers of Fear, Blair Witch e The Medium.

For the moment we don’t know much about the Silent Hill 2 remake but, from what we have been able to see, it seems that it will be quite faithful to the original. Obviously, however, several will be introduced technical changes to make the experience more in step with the times. In fact it has already been confirmed that the remake it will not use still shots typical of the original Silent Hill 2, but a more modern third person.

Currently we don’t know a possible release date yet for the Silent Hill 2 remake, but we know that will be released on both PC and PS5.
