Sneakerentola: a modern Cinderella on Disney Plus

Sneakerentola is coming to Disney Plus, a modern reinterpretation of one of the most famous fairy tales of all time

There are many fairy tales that have entered the hearts of children, but one of the most unforgettable is certainly Cinderella. The story of the poor orphan girl forced to live by obeying the orders of her stepmother and her stepsisters is now known to all, but what would happen if the story unfolded in the present day? The new movie Disneyarriving on 13 maggio on the streaming platform, it is proposed to completely renew the storyby adding modern elements e lots of music. Without forgetting that, this time, she will not be a girl to play the unfortunate Cinderella a boy, with a big dream to fulfill.

Plot and cast of Sneakerentola

Thea young boy living in Queens, has a big dream: become a sneaker designer. He doesn’t lack talent, but for now he can only work as a warehouse worker in the shoe shop that once belonged to the mother. Continuously oppressed by his father and his two half brothersis forced to hide his great artistic talent, at least until El meets Kira King. Daughter of the great basketball player and sneaker tycoon Darius KingKira will immediately make friends with the boy, thanks to the passion that unites them. With the help of her best friend and a pinch of magic of his Fairy Godfather, El will finally show his talent. He will tie his shoes and start chasing his dream.

In this very modern reinterpretation of Cinderella, we will find Chosen Jacobs in the role of El, Lexi Underwood in those of Kira King e Devyn Nekota in those of Sami, the best friend of the protagonist. Darius King and his wife will be played by respectively John Salley e Yvonne Senate. El’s stepfather will be Bryan Terrell Clarkwhile Kolton Stewart e Hayward Leach they will play the role of Zelly and Stacy, the two half-brothers.

Directed by Sneakerentola is by Elizabeth Allen Rosembaum, already known for directing some episodes of Gossip Girl (2009) and The Vampire Diaries (2010). The film is written by David Light, Joseph Satin, Tamara Chestna, Mindy Stern e George Gore IIthe latter already known for playing Michael Kyle Junior in the sitcom All in the family (2001-2005).
