Sonic 2 – The film is shown in the first trailer

Sonic 2 – The Movie is arriving in cinemas in just over three months and so it’s time to kick off the promotion, obviously with a trailer. In the night, during the The Game Awards 2021, there was therefore the opportunity to show the world the first official images from the film, which revealed some interesting surprises for fans. After the first cinematic adventure (received quite positively by the public and critics) the hero of the SEGA video games returns to the big screen and this time he is not alone. Judging from the trailer, Sonic 2 – The Movie will take a step forward in transporting the videogame universe into the cinematic one, introducing new elements and modifying others.

Let’s take for example the Dottor Robotnik. The character (at the center of a crazy interpretation of Jim Carrey) acquires a look much closer to the gaming counterpart. No more hair and above all a pair of giant mustache, just like on consoles. A change that was already anticipated in the finale of the first film, but which we can now admire in all of his glory baffuta.

Not only that, but we will also see the debut of two beloved characters from the world of Sonic. The first is Tails, faithful friend of the blue hedgehog, who will certainly be of great support to the hero in the new adventure. As with Robotnik’s new look, in this case too the introduction was already mentioned in the first film. The second is instead Knuckles, which will have an exceptional voice actor in the original language: the great Idris Elba.
