System Shock Remake: release month announced

Nightdive Studios has worked extensively on the remake Of System Shock and, after long years of anticipations and delays, theexit is finally “at hand”. The developer confirmed in April of last year that the remake had entered the final stages of development, and more recently, the game’s Steam page was updated with a launch window listed as March 2023. The latter has now been officially confirmed. Let’s see all the details about it in the next few lines of this article.

System Shock Remake: the development studio’s comment on the month of release

In an update posted on the Kickstarter page of System Shock RemakeNightdive Studios has officially confirmed that the game will be in release in March 2023 for PC and consoles (although no specific release date has been set yet).

While acknowledging that it’s not the first time a tentative launch window for the System Shock remake has been announced, the developer explained that the scope and scale of the project have “evolved drastically” over the course of development, while the involvement of Prime Matter as a publisher has allowed us to further improve the gaming experience:

The scope and scale of the project has evolved considerably and the entry of Prime Matter into the project has allowed us to focus on quality of life improvements, bug fixes and localization support – the last major steps towards the release of a game that we are all incredibly proud of. This also gave us time to review the work already done and polish various aspects of the title that needed more polish.

Some of the improvements made to the title we are talking about consist of new variants of enemies in the following levels, “a bit of a makeover” for the Citadel, a completely unedited variant of enemiesa, a complete dismemberment system, updated weapon effects and more. System Shock will launch for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
