The demand for tech products in Italy increases in 2021

Sales of tech products in Italy continue to grow. The confirmation comes from the new GfK ICT Distributors Panel report which analyzed the market trend during the first nine months of 2021. According to the report data, the sales linked to the sale of tech devices in Italy has grown by +8.4% compared to last year’s data. Overall, the sector recorded revenues of € 6.1 billion in the first three quarters of the year.

Sales of tech products in Italy are on the rise

Despite the many requests, i revenues from the sale of tech devices are lower than expected due to the chip crisis. The shortage of semiconductors is slowing down the production of various devices and, therefore, reducing the availability of some products on the market. The effect of the crisis in Italy is a drop in overall turnover in the third quarter. The overall turnover would therefore have been higher without the crisis.

Monitors and hardware components drive growth

The demand for monitor e hardware components, categories that show an increase of + 31.7% and + 23.7%. The sectors of the telephony (+11,1%) ed home appliances (+ 19%). Positive data (+ 12.7%) also for the world TV pushed by the switch off. In addition, there was strong growth also in the business sector which recorded a + 6.7% driven by computer (+8.2) monitors and signage at + 31.1%.
