A few days ago came the confirmation that The Elder Scrolls 6 it will be exclusive Microsoft, exactly as Starfield. Ora Todd Howard, CEO of Bethesda, revealed some more details about the project, during an interview, specifying what are the problems that the development team is facing and that the goal is to make the game last at least as long as it was Skyrim. Todd Howard has in fact stated that The Elder Scrolls 6 will be played for at least 10 years from its debut.

Todd Howard seems to have this matter very much at heart longevity, when it comes to The Elder Scrolls 6. The CEO in fact explained that this is one of the points where the new chapter of the saga must not miss a beat, remaining current and playable for at least 10 years since its debut. Of course, the executive does not mean how long the history of the game will actually be, but how much the latter will be able to establish itself in the global market, exactly as it did. Skyrim.

In practice, Howard’s idea seems to be to take advantage of the Skyrim experience to propose a game that improves every single aspect, becoming a gaming icon at least as powerful as the fifth chapter of The Elder Scrolls. The anxieties of the development team, however, are understandable: it is difficult to imagine something more all-encompassing and immersive than Skyrim.

It must also be said that one of the endemic features of Elder Scrolls 6 could be rowing against this will, however: we are obviously talking about its being a Microsoft exclusive. As we have seen over the past 10 years, one of the ways in Skyrim has managed to stay relevant over time is also thanks to the myriads of platforms on which it came out, something that may not be possible with its sequel.

An element that is added to the recent statement, also by Howard, concerning the big time gap between the fifth and sixth chapter of Elder Scrolls, who admitted that waiting so long was not a great move.
