The EU wants to bring 5G to flights by saying goodbye to airplane mode

Using airplane mode may soon become a distant memoryat least as regards i flights within the EU. This novelty was anticipated by the European Commission which intends to focus on the development of 5G connections even at high altitudes. Here are the details:

5G could lead to the retirement of airplane mode in the EU

The European Commission opens the door to the use of 5G in aircraft. Confirmation arrives in these hours with a press release that anticipates the arrival of regulatory changes in this sense. Airplane mode in the EU could therefore have cash days. The EU also intends to bring 5G to aircraft, allowing passengers to be able to use connectivity services during the flight.

According to Thierry Breton, Commissioner for the Internal Market, into the future: “5G will enable innovative services for people and growth opportunities for European businesses. The sky is no longer the limit when it comes to the possibilities of super-fast, high-capacity connectivity.”
