A few days after the presentation, they emerge new details on the Google Tensor G2, the SoC used by the new Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro. As specified by a Google spokesperson, in fact, the smartphone uses the 5 nm production process and not the most recent at 4 nm, as instead emerged previously.
In a statement released to the Android Authority, Google clarified ch the architecture of the new Tensor G2 SoC includes the 5nm process. The company’s goal, in the development of the SoC, was to create an architecture capable of guaranteeing maximum performance in real use scenarios. This approach, Google points out, has allowed for improved performance and energy efficiency.
In fact, therefore, the Google Tensor G2 represents a direct evolution of the G1, especially with regards to the CPU. Significant improvements, on the other hand, come with the new TPU which guarantees a 60% increase in performance with a 20% reduction in consumption. The innovations introduced by the SoC are certainly interesting. Google, in any case, will not follow the benchmarks, preferring to optimize performance to the maximum.
We remind you that the new Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are already available for purchase. More details about the real performance of the new SoCs will arrive over the next few days.
