Based on some files inside the beta 4, the portal has discovered that the system wallpapers are now ready for this new one. display mode always active. With iOS 16, in fact, wallpapers are no longer static images, but rather multilayer vectors rendered in real time. With the new beta, these are joined by a new state called “Sleep”, which has very dark and faded elements, similar to those of the Apple Wacht with always-on display. This means that once the user turns off the iPhone 14 Pro screen, the wallpaper will switch to the “Sleep” version.

Basically, it appears that Apple will replicate the same effect as the Apple Watch on the iPhone 14 Pro. Therefore, users will continue to see the wallpaper even when the display is turned off. But this will then be displayed at maximum brightness when you tap the screen or press the power button. With the always-on mode, however, the clock and widgets chosen by the user will be visible even when the screen is “off”. Seeing is believing.
