The new global roaming service designed by Starlink

The society Starlinkproperty of SpaceXseems to be testing a new service from roaming global which allows you to use the Internet anywhere in the world. Here are the details.

Starlink wants to bring the Internet anywhere in the world with global roaming

Starlink says it wants to spread the Internet anywhere in the world. The service will cost 200 euros per month, plus a Starlink starter kit costing $599.

How would that work? Global roaming uses Starlink inter-satellite links to provide worldwide connectivity. Here’s what the company said: “You can expect Starlink’s typical high-speed, low-latency service along with brief periods of little or no connectivity at all.”

The technology platform The Verge notes that it’s unclear how Starlink intends to provide worldwide connectivity, since it has yet to address regulatory hurdles in countries like India, Pakistan and so on. Meanwhile, its services are still not available in many places.

Despite that, PCMag reports that Starlink is providing Internet access in some countries outside its coverage area. Some people on the waiting list for the service have been invited to be part of the new Global Roaming trial.

One such potential customer of Starlink said, “I think it’s a way for Starlink to get people to use the service around the world, without having to fight with government approval.”

It is possible that the company has a way to circumvent country approvals with the new global roaming plan. However, there is still no official confirmation of the same. We’ll have to wait for Starlink to share more details about its new service to learn more about what this new technology is really capable of.
