Bad news for those eagerly awaiting the release of System Shock, remake of the iconic 1994 video game. The game, which should have arrived on PC at the end of March, has now been delayed by two months. This was announced by the Nightdive Studios studio itself, which made it known that the video game will now arrive on May 30, 2023.
In an official announcement Nightdive Studios wrote:
“We had hoped to have the game on the market by the end of March, but we found that our predictions were too optimistic: we are human beings after all (unlike Shodan!)”
Fans have been waiting for the release of the remake since June 28, 2016, the day on which a crowdfunding campaign had started on Kickstarter to bring the famous title back to modern gaming platforms. The initial goal was $900,000, which was largely achieved and surpassed by over 21,000 supporters who donated a total of $1,350,700. In the original plans, the remake should have been released in December 2017. However, as we well know, several delays have accumulated.
In January 2023, a breath of optimism had pervaded Nightdive, which had promised that the title would be released by the end of March 2023. Today, however, this positivity has been corrupted by Shodan (the neurotic and sadistic artificial intelligence of the game). All that remains is to wait any longer.
