There will never be snow again (Never gonna snow again) is the new film by Malgorzata Szumowska premiered at the 77 Venice Film Festival. The Polish film finally has a trailer, released in preparation for its American screen debut.

The video introduces the main character, the masseur Zhenia, and his incredible powers.

The plot follows a Ukrainian migrant who works as a massage therapist in Poland who becomes a guru-like figure in the residential neighborhood where his clients live.

On a foggy gray morning in a large eastern European city, a mysterious person appears: a man carrying a cot. The visitor uses magical and hypnotic techniques to obtain a residence permit and starts working as a massage therapist in a suburban housing estate. The bland gated community, built for the rich in the middle of what used to be a cabbage field, is isolated from the “worst” world around it.

The film, presented a year ago at the Venice International Film Festival, was made by the director in collaboration with the director of photography and co-screenwriter Michal Englert. He also sees as the protagonist Alec Utgoff, an actor known by the international public thanks to Stranger Things.

They are also part of the cast Maja Ostaszewska, Agata Kulesza, Weronkia Rosati, Katarzyna Figura, Lukasz Simlat, Andrzej Chyra e Krzysztof Czeczot.

The Polish director Malgorzata Szumowska is a veteran of the Silver Bear for Best Director at the 2015 Berlin Film Festival for the film Body (Bodies), and most recently Silver Bear, Grand Jury Prize at the 2018 Berlin Film Festival for Another Life – Mug. In 2019 he directed his first feature film in English as well as the first not to be based on his script, horror The Other Lamb. Finally, There will never be snow again, chosen as the Polish film nominated for an Oscar.
