Twitter disables automatic timeline update

Twitter has released a new update that eliminates the automatic timeline refresh. This function has long been criticized by users of the social network. The automatic tweet refresh system caused the removal of messages not yet read by the user, creating not a little dissatisfaction among the users of the platform. This is a new step to make the consultation of the contents on the social network even easier for users.

Twitter has eliminated automatic timeline update

Already last September, Twitter had announced its intention to eliminate the automatic refresh function due to the problems caused to users. Today, the official Twitter Support account confirmed the launch of the release of the awaited update, currently being rolled out for all users of the social network.

The new system introduced by Twitter for the timeline provides a manual update. The user can choose to update the Twitter timeline using a special indicator that will appear at the top of the screen.This system has already been introduced on the Android and iOS versions of the app. The goal of Twitter is, therefore, to make it even easier to consult the various tweets from all platforms, without the risk of losing content.

The new feature with manual timeline update should be available to all users within a few days.
