Twitter hires “poison pill” lawyers to sue Musk

Twitter he found his lawyers to cause has Musk: the company has in fact hired Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. A New York studio with over fifty years of history, with one of the founders (Martin Lipton) who invented the defense of “poisoned pill“, Which Twitter had initially used to avoid the acquisition of Musk. The one against Musk will be a legal battle that promises fires and flames.

Twitter found their own lawyers for the lawsuit against Musk.

On Friday Elon Musk announced he would canceled the $ 44 billion acquisition for Twitter. The chairman of Twitter’s board of directors (of which Musk is still the largest shareholder) announced that the company would sue the billionaire. And now, according to Bloomberg, he’s found his team to sue him to sue Musk.

Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz is such a large studio that it has its own Wikipedia page, one of the pillars of corporate law in America. So much so that one of the founders invented the “poison pill” that Twitter used against Musk last April.

The lawyers appear to be suing the court of Chancery in Delaware. Leading the case should be William Savittwhile the other should be Leo Strinea former judge (and candidate for the State Supreme Court) who worked for 20 years in the Chancery court.

Musk hasn’t officially answered yet and yes limits to post meme in which he makes fun of the fact that in court Twitter will have to present official data on bots and the spam accounts, which he had been asking for for a long time. Although the situation is likely to be more complicated than he wants to believe.

And in fact it seems he has already hired lawyers from the firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, also huge enough to be on Wikipedia. They defended Samsung in the case against Apple (the one that said the Galaxy copied the iPhones). And they also have defense Musk when he called a pedophile to a person who contradicted him on Twitter.

Beyond the statements on both sides, the case should clarify what really happened during this missed transaction. With Musk who, after finding the money, raised doubts about the number of spam accounts on the social network. We will keep you updated on the story.
