Venice focuses on contactless payments for public transport in the lagoon

Stefano Stoppani, Country Manager of Visa Italia, explains: “The launch of contactless payment of travel documents in Venice allows us to capitalize on Visa’s vast experience in this area, with over 100 authorized cities in Europe, many of which are in Italy. The case of Venice is all the more relevant: in addition to improving the user experience of residents by digitizing the payment of transport and contributing to greater livability, it will greatly facilitate the life of the millions of tourists who visit the citythanks to one of the strengths of digital payments, namely the overcoming of language and currency barriers”.
