Vertigo Games acquires Force Field to raise the bar for VR games

Vertigo Games, the development and publishing branch specializing in VR of the global group Koch Media, announced that it has entered into an agreement for theacquisition of 100% of the shares of Force Field. It is one of the largest virtual reality development studios in the world. The Force Field team will continue its operations under the new name of Vertigo Studios Amsterdam.

Founded by veterans of the gaming industry in 2015, Force Field is one of the largest development studios in the world that focus exclusively on VR games. The company has developed several VR titles including those from Oculus Studios “Landfall”, “Time Stall” e “Coaster Combat”. He is currently working on an unannounced AAA game based on a well-known IP.

The Force Field team, with the name now Vertigo Studios Amsterdam, he will continue his activities from his studio based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He will collaborate with Vertigo Games on the development of new AAA VR games for major VR platforms. The acquisition includes all segments of Force Field’s business as well as intellectual property rights.

The acquisition is the latest in a series of expansion operations by Vertigo Games. The company has evolved from virtual reality development to publishing, from out-of-home entertainment to distribution; establishing multiple VR brands including “Arizona Sunshine” and “After the Fall”, following its entry into the Koch Media / Embracer Group in September 2020 and the acquisition of SpringboardVR, the leading marketplace and out-of-the-box VR content management platform. of-home earlier this year.
