You have chosen Gryffindor to walk the path of righteousness and you’re wondering what would have changed if the Sorting Hat had assigned you to Slytherin? Well know that in Hogwarts Legacy the four houses affect the game, with differences both from an aesthetic and gameplay point of view. It is no coincidence, in fact, that the game has four different save slots, enticing you to create four different characters.
Recall, for those new to the world of Hogwarts Legacy, that the game is set in the Harry Potter fictional universe, but about a century before the events narrated in the novels of J.K. Rowling. Specifically, the video game puts you in the shoes of a new fifth year Hogwarts student. So, even if you lag behind your mates, you too will have to participate in the sorting ceremony. Obviously, as well as in the works of J.K. Rowlingit will be there Sorting Hat to assign you to one of the four houses (Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw).
The Sorting will take place at the beginning of the game, after the first part of the tutorial. After a series of questions the Sorting Hat will assign you to a house. Don’t worry though, just like Harry in The Philosopher’s Stone you can interact with him and make him change his mind even after he has made his choice. But be careful: once you have confirmed your home, you will no longer be able to change it!

The first substantial difference between the houses will obviously be of an aesthetic nature. The clothes and the aspects you unlock will reflect the colors of your home. Specifically, the main colors are: gold and scarlet for Gryffindor; silver and green for Slytherin; yellow and black for Hufflepuff and bronze and blue for Ravenclaw.
At the end of the Sorting you will be led into the Common room of your home. And here is the second major difference, given that each house has its own dormitory and unique setting. Not only that: if you belong to a different house and you try to access a Common Room that doesn’t belong to you, you could run into nice easter eggs and animations. In particular:
The secret entrance to the Slytherin Common Room
In addition to these purely aesthetic aspects, the choice of the house also impacts the gameplay. Each house has its own unique mission in Hogwarts Legacy. This is the quest related to the missing pages of the book that you will have found in the Forbidden Section of the Library. You will unlock it in the first hours of the game and, depending on your house, you will have to leave for a specific mission.
Come Gryffindor you will go together with Nearly Headless Nick to the Hunt for the Headless. In the guise of Slytherin instead you will have to complete an assignment for Scroope (Headmaster Black’s elf), entering the tomb of Apollonia Black. If you are Tassorosso you will be able to obtain the missing information in a mission that will even take you to visit In Azka. Finally, as a Ravenclaw, the missing information will be found in the Owlery, where you will have to solve puzzles.
Your choice of house will also affect the order in which you get to know other Hogwarts students. As a Gryffindor, for example, you will immediately know Garreth Weasley, while as a Slytherin you will immediately make friends with Sebastian and Infaustus. However this aspect will not affect the rest of the story.
