No Time To Die achieves its first record takings since the post-lockdown reopening. For the first time this happens without counting US and Chinese takings
Huge success for the new James Bond film, No Time To Die. Directed by Cary Fukunaga, starring Daniel Craig and Rami Malek as the antagonist, the film was released in all cinemas (except the US and China) on September 30th.
Per the first time since the post-lockdown reopening (and colored areas) a Hollywood production film exceeds 100 million abroad in the first weekend, doing without the American and Chinese takings, which will only be able to enjoy the film in theaters starting from 8 October.
The film scored a record takings in the pandemic period unexpected, in fact the forecasts attested it to 90 million dollars, while the film managed to touch 119.
Obviously, it is still early to say whether No Time to Die will take the same way everywhere, but it is estimated that the departure is on the same lines as that of Skyfall, with only 17% lower than that of Specter (previews excluded).
It is unknown what will happen to the brand after MGM is taken over by Amazon, but one thing is sure: lthe choice not to give in to the lure of streaming has paid for now, to the delight of all exhibitors (and of those who are enjoying the film on the seats of the cinema, perhaps in IMAX).
