Microsoft has confirmed the return of the Xbox Design Lab program, which will return shortly to allow you to customize the Xbox Series X / S controllers
Microsoft is preparing to re-embrace its service soon Xbox Design Lab, which allows various players to create and customize their own controllers, this time those related to Xbox Series X/S. The initiative was originally launched in 2016, at the time of the previous generation of consoles of the Redmond giant, to then be paused in 2020 for unspecified reasons for updating, which seem to have finally reached their completion.
The update process officially ended today, and has therefore seen the return to activity of the program: now players will be able to give life to their own customized versions of controllers di Xbox Series X e Xbox Series S. The service offers 18 colors to choose from, including three new shades added to celebrate the new gaming hardware – let’s talk about Shock Blue, Electric Volt e Press Network.
The players will also be able to decide independently the design of the body and the back of the pad, in addition to the back buttons, the triggers, the D-pad, the analog sticks, the front buttons and View, Menu and Share buttons. In addition, each controller can be personalized with gamertag engraving of the player, or with a single message consisting of up to 16 characters. Furthermore, most of the colors present are made using 30% recycled material, as confirmed by James Hunter, senior director of strategy and business, in a blog post Xbox Wire. The pads can be customized and ordered directly through the initiative’s website.
