To celebrate Valentino Rossi’s legendary MotoGP career, Yamaha Motor Europe is launching a special “Tribute” version to the Doctor, the R1 GYTR VR46. This is designed to unique specifications and features a special livery produced by Aldo Drudi, Valentino’s famous helmet designer and good friend. The R1 GYTR VR46 features specific parts of the GYTR 2022, all a direct result of Yamaha’s development that allowed it to reach the “Triple Crown” of WorldSBK 2021. The R1 GYTR VR46 will never be on sale as it is a one-off donated by the Japanese producer to Valentino Rossi.
The R1 GYTR VR46 Tribute features a new carbon fiber fairing kit and full carbon rear subframe. The fuel capacity was increased to 22 liters and everything was made with weight savings in mind. Brembo brakes are designed for incredible stopping power, while the high-performance ECU REX 140 Marelli offers superior power. The full list of special parts drawn from Yamaha’s WorldSBK experience is completed with GYTR parts such as Ohlins suspension and front and rear GYTR chainrings.
