Anno 1800 game mode will be available for free

Year 1800 recently presented his Season 4 and revealed that the game mode, which won the UNEP Choice Award, Eden Burning, will be available for free on December 14. The title is available now on Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store for PC. Furthermore, in 2022, the arrival of three new expansions.

Eden Burning arrives December 14 in Anno 1800

Eden Burning was first presented during the Green Game Jam del 2021 and introduces a new game mode: Scenario. The Eden Burning scenario features a mechanic of tipo rogue which explains to the players the dangers of an economy of exploitation of the environment.

Players must succeed in finish an industrial project without destroying their ecosystem, weighing the impact of using renewable resources than those non-renewable. Their decisions will affect their environment, either positively or negatively. Those who prioritize sustainable practices will achieve better results.

Eden Burning will be available as part of the free update 13 and 14 December. In Season 4, at least a new one Scenario will be released along with each new DLC.

Furthermore Anno 1800 is collaborating with Ecologi, a company that funds reforestation and other carbon reduction projects. Starting December 14, players will be able to purchase the DLC “Plant a tree” for € 2.99 to receive a new ornamental tree to plant in their cities.

A minimum of € 1 for each purchase of the “Plant a tree” DLC will be donated to Ecologists. After March 31, 2022, the DLC will be removed from the in-game store. The ornament will also be distributed free of charge later in 2022.

We are happy to be able to bring this concept to life in our latest free update and show how video games can play a role in teaching players about environmental issues.
