Apple: 10th generation iPad will have USB-C port (and more)

More news on the new iPad from Apple, which it seems it will be equipped with chip A14 Bionic, 5G and – for the first time – USB-C connectivity. A series of features that update the current entry-level device of the company, inexpensive but still equipped with the Lightning port. By keeping the design and making some changes, Apple could get more consent from users.

Apple iPad: USB-C connectivity finally arrives

Throughout the year, Apple has been working on significant updates for its cheaper iPad. According to reports from 9to5Mac, in fact, the10th generation iPad will have a USB-C port as a replacement for Lightning. A detail that shows that the Cupertino company is finally trying to bring the new connectivity to all the iPad series on the market. In any case, it is clear that this is an important update for users, because USB-C supports higher transfer rates and even one wider variety of peripherals.

Also, thanks to the new port it will be easier to connect the iPad to more modern external displays, such as the Studio Display from Apple. Beyond this, the company’s new tablet seems ready to offer great news, such as the display Retina with the same resolution as that of the iPad Air. Indeed, considering that the 9th generation model has a 10.2-inch LCD display, an increased size of 10.5 or 10.9 inches is to be expected. However, more modern display specs such as wide color gamut with DCI-P3 and increased brightness will remain exclusive to high-end iPads.

Finally, the 10th generation Apple iPad should come with the chip A14 Bionic, already present on the fourth generation iPad Air. Compared to the A13 Bionic, used in the current entry-level iPad, the performance gains should be around 30%. And that’s not all, because the company will also add the 5G network support for cellular models. Beyond this, it must be considered that not only the technical specifications could be included among Apple’s updates. Some changes to the display, in fact, also allow us to hypothesize a review of the design of the device. But we are not sure of this yet.
